According to the Board, the players will now get a raise of 25 percent in their monthly retainers of the previous year in all categories.

Meanwhile, the Board also announced an increase of 25 percent in the Test match fee and 10 percent raise was given in the One-day International match fee.

The system of bonuses has also been revised to incentivise outstanding individual performance and series wins.

“The new central contracts and revision in payments will become effective from January 1, 2014,” the Board said in a press release on Wednesday.

“The revisions have been finalised in consultation with senior players of the Pakistan team. The names of the players who will be offered contracts and their categories will be finalised after the conclusion of the ongoing camp in Lahore,” the Board said.

The Board also disclosed that it would be releasing up to 50 percent of those players’ remunerations who have represented Pakistan in international matches since January 2014.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Board had raised the retainership fee by 15 percent in the 2013 central contracts.

In the 2012 contract, the same had been increased by 25 percent. However, in 2012 the case was different because the Board had not given any relief to the players since 2009.
